Vanguard pilots, A-4: Rift Expanse is ready to explore! This update introduces ancient alien warships, a major boss, solar radiation, and valuable engineering rewards.
☀️ A sector exposed to solar radiation
Outside protected areas, A-4’s radiation gradually drains your shields, then damages your hull once those shields fail. Gateways and docking areas offer shelter, while on-screen warnings show when your ship is exposed.
Drifting amber haze and diagonal crimson solar waves give the sector a dangerous atmosphere. These background effects use lightweight rendering to keep battles running smoothly.
⚔️ Meet the Rift Hunters
Ancient Rift Hunter warships patrol A-4, attacking with lasers and defending themselves with regenerating shields. Defeating them awards XP, credits, and one regular missile, with chances to recover crafting materials for Xal’s market.
👾 Challenge the Plasma Manta
A massive metallic stingray warship guards the sector:
500,000 hull HP
150,000 shield points
Shield regeneration begins after five seconds without taking damage
Multiple laser volleys
Respawns 60 seconds after destruction
Your ship lasers, drones, regular missiles, and missile barrage can target both new enemy types. Shield effects and floating combat results help you track the action.
🌌 Open new routes
Defeat the Plasma Manta at least once to permanently unlock A-4’s gateways to A-5, C-3, and C-4. Its return won’t lock those routes again.
The gateway back to A-3 remains available before the boss is defeated.
🎁 Boss rewards worth fighting for
Each Plasma Manta victory awards 10,000 XP, 25,000 credits, 25 regular missiles, and guaranteed crafting supplies.
Your first victory also guarantees a Manta Reactor Core, with a rare chance to earn additional cores on later defeats.
Bring the core to Xal to craft the new Nythari Plasma Capacitor. While equipped, it provides 15% more maximum shield capacity and 10% faster passive shield regeneration.
