  • Secret of Evermore | SNES

"Secret of Evermore" is an action role-playing game (ARPG) developed by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in North America in 1995. While not as well-known as some other SNES RPGs, it gained a dedicated fanbase over the years due to its unique gameplay and charming presentation. The game's plot follows a young boy and his dog who are transported to a fantasy world called Evermore through an eccentric inventor's time machine. The duo embarks on an epic adventure to find a way back home while uncovering the mysteries of Evermore. Here are some key features and elements of "Secret of Evermore": Dual Protagonists: Unlike traditional RPGs, "Secret of Evermore" doesn't feature a party of characters. Instead, you control two characters: the boy and his dog. Each character has different abilities and stats, and players can switch between them at any time, allowing for unique strategies and approaches to combat and puzzles. Alchemy System: One of the game's defining features is the alchemy system. The boy can collect various ingredients throughout the game world and use them to create a wide range of alchemical spells and weapons. This system adds an element of experimentation as players discover new combinations to deal with different challenges. Story-Driven: The game's story unfolds as the boy and his dog journey through different time periods and locations within the world of Evermore, from ancient civilizations to futuristic cities. Along the way, they interact with a diverse cast of characters and uncover the secrets of the world. Real-Time Combat: Combat in "Secret of Evermore" is real-time, with enemies appearing on the screen and battles occurring in the same environment where you encounter them. This dynamic combat system adds an element of action and strategy to the gameplay. Stunning Graphics: The game's graphics were impressive for its time, featuring detailed and colorful 2D sprites and backgrounds. Each area in Evermore has a distinct visual style, creating a visually engaging experience. Musical Score: The game's music, composed by Jeremy Soule, is often praised for its atmospheric and memorable tunes that enhance the overall experience. While "Secret of Evermore" might not have achieved the same level of acclaim as some other SNES RPGs, it remains a cult classic appreciated for its unique gameplay mechanics, charming characters, and the nostalgic feelings it evokes for those who played it during its heyday.

  • NES Top Gun

"Top Gun" is a video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987. It was developed by Konami and published by Konami in Japan and by Ultra Games in North America. The game is based on the 1986 film of the same name, which depicts the experiences of fighter pilots in the United States Navy. The NES version of "Top Gun" is an air combat simulation game that attempts to recreate the intense flying and combat sequences from the movie. Players take on the role of a fighter pilot training at the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School. The main objective is to complete various training exercises and eventually face off against enemy fighter planes in combat scenarios. Here's a breakdown of the gameplay and features: Flight Simulation: The game focuses on flight simulation, and players control an F-14 Tomcat fighter jet. The controls are somewhat challenging, aiming to provide a sense of realism. Players have to manage their altitude, speed, and weaponry while maneuvering their aircraft. Training Missions: Players start with a series of training exercises that include tasks such as landing on an aircraft carrier, refueling in mid-air, and engaging in dogfights. Successfully completing these missions is essential to progress in the game. Dogfights: The core gameplay revolves around aerial dogfights, where players engage in air-to-air combat against enemy planes. This involves evasive maneuvers, using different weapons like missiles and machine guns, and maintaining situational awareness to avoid enemy fire. Carrier Landings: One of the more challenging aspects of the game is landing the fighter jet on an aircraft carrier. This requires precise timing and control to align the jet with the landing strip on the moving carrier deck. Aerial Refueling: Another notable feature is mid-air refueling, where players have to connect their jet's fuel probe with a refueling plane's drogue to replenish their fuel. Mission Progression: As players complete training exercises, they gain points and eventually progress to the final objective: a series of missions that culminate in a confrontation with enemy forces. While "Top Gun" attempted to capture the excitement and intensity of aerial combat, it received mixed reviews. Critics praised its attempts at realism but also highlighted its steep learning curve and occasionally frustrating controls. The game's difficulty, especially in tasks like landing on the carrier, led to player frustration. Despite its flaws, "Top Gun" remains a nostalgic title for many NES players and is remembered for its connection to the iconic movie and its attempt to bring aerial combat to the gaming world of its time.

Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars. 2. Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. 3. There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled. 4. Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter; 5. Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not. 6. For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them. 7. And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock. 8. Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me. 9. Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another. 10. And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11. And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord. 12. And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. 13. And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord. 14. Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. 15. And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. 16. For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. 17. Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened. -- The Holy Bible King James Version Like 0 comments Comment 1 0 comments 0 comments debug Comments (0) Write a comment... DeMoNFH's NFT Premium Subscriber The issue about explicit images and videos in News Regarding adult-themed explicit images, let me be clear about something. The hosting company that hosts our content is Wix, and according to their policy, nudity could harm the site. This is the reason I have embedded services instead of hosting images from people, this saves us the hassle of blocking users who break the explicit images and nudity policy set by Wix. Images and videos should be similar to TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook. I have no issues embedding images from Twitter, yet keep in mind that we have to have a strict policy regarding nudity and other types of harmful content, like harmful violence or similar content. For now, the things I have shared have not turned on any red lights. I personally think that allowing embedded services works perfectly fine, this saves us lots of work from having to hire mods that constantly have to check posts that break the community guidelines. If you guys use storage services from Google Drive, YouTube, or TikTok, the site-embedded services work perfectly well. That would only take a few clicks to share the iframe code on our iframe element. Chirp on, write, embed, and be happy.
